The Gloriana

Eden has a pub. It’s a social hub for locals who live and work in the area. It’s open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and has the best bands playing on weekends. Karaoke night at The Gloriana is not to be missed. You never know what’s going to happen: marriage proposals, proclamations of undying love, as well as miscellaneous declarations. The first time I stumbled upon the pub, I lost my footing and tripped, you see… there’s a ship’s figurehead hanging off the side.  I’m told it was salvaged from a shipwreck way back in the 1800’s. Anyhow, the pub’s owned by the Faydon family: Eddie, her brothers Mitch, Matthew and Markus and their father, Mick Faydon. If I want to know the latest, then this is the place to hear all about it.  Or at least, get several versions of news.  Lately, there’s been a lot of talk about an heiress coming to Eden to reclaim her side of Eden. Apparently, the town is divided into two: there’s Sterling Eden – that’s where all the shops are – and then there’s the Wilde side of Eden. It looks derelict. None of the buildings are occupied and few people even cross over to that side of the main street. For a newcomer, it’s an odd sight. I’ve been here several months now and I still find it odd. Trawling through the online newspapers, I have come across mention of Zoe Wilde, but nothing to suggest she’ll visit the town. As soon as I hear anything, I will do a post. My lunch is coming. Oh… it’s being served by Mitch Faydon – aka Flirty Faydon, Eden’s bad boy.
